I have a question I hope you can help me answer. My grandparents moved to Flordia like ten years ago. They moved back 6 months later and said it was to expensive but they never sold their property that my family knows of. Well they passed away and nothing was mentioned about the property how would I find if they still own it or any info on that matter?

To be honest I have no idea. A suggestion would to be check with a realator they might have some kinda filing system that they can use to pull up owners of properties. I assume the more you know about it the easier and short your search would be. Like city, address, house number anything.

If you know what county your grandparents lived in, you can search the County Property Appraiser's website for their name. If they still owned the property at the time of their death, it would be listed under their names. The Property Appraiser's site provides information about the property such as address, legal description, parcel identification number and others. Many counties also have a link to the Clerk's site where you can obtain a copy of the deed.
It will probably involve some type of probate to transfer the property into the name of their heirs. Also, you should determine whether a tax certificate has been sold on the property as a result of delinquent taxes. If I can help you further, contact me through my profile. |
