Have you seen the Mermaids?

I remember growing up we use to go and visit my aunt who lived in Florida. She would tell us about the place we could go and see the mermaids, but for some reason, we never went. It was a place near Spring Hills. Does anyone know what this place is called? Has anyone gone to see the mermaids?

Weeki Wachee state park in Spring Hills has mermaids. Named by the Seminole Indians and translates as "little spring". Located about an hour north of Tampa at the crossroads of U.S. 19 and State Road 50.

Wow! This is a pretty cool forum! I'm glad I registered here! Another prime spot for my kid's upcoming Florida tour! I think we made the right decision to move to Florida!

I know my wife and I went and watched Manatees in Homassee Springs and also Crystal River! They were fascinating. Got a Coffee Cup for my daughter which I broke several years later and she really misses! She is a Manatee Maniac!

Our son (4.5) was captivated by the mantees at Weeki Wachee last year so much so we plan to include a trip to Crystal River - Homosassa in our vacation this year. So it is good to hear such positive feedback on it.
